What does S and C stands for in iphone series?

Tell me what does S stands for in iphone 3GS, 4S and 5S. Also tell me what does C say in iphone 5C

C stands for colorful & cheap.
S stands for speed.

But its not true

The 5C was made to be distributed in China, that's why its called 'C', they've downgraded it so that the people of China can afford it, as their average wage is much lower than ours, so they've put the plastic backing on. This is done many because apple have realised that the biggest population, is in countries such as china and india, so they've done this to make more money. Hope this helps.

Apple launches one new phone every year and next year launches the same model with letter S which is better than the last year's version (which may have new battery or camera or processor or ram etc) but has still has last year's look

But this year apple did launch another C series iphone which is cheaper than iphone 5s but still expensive enough for what it offers(like other apple products: P )
Iphone 5c is basically iphone 5 but with different looks like plastic body instead of metal and many colors instead of black and white which iphone 5 offered

I've heard C is for color S is for style

C is actually for Cheap… But now i guess its for Colour… S noone is really sure actually…

C- cost, not cheap. Or colour because it is the first iphone with bright colors oon the back
S- The number 7 in Iphone 5s, siri in iphone 4s and speed in iphone 3gs.

5S - not officially defined as yet but some have said scan (i.e. The fingerscanner)
5C - again, not officially defined but likely is for colour
