My Photo Stream allows you to link all your other Apple devices via iCloud, when you take a picture, it will upload to the cloud and you can view it on your other device. For example if you take pictures on your iPhone and it goes to the Photo Stream, you can then view the photos on your iPad without having to move/send any files.
