What's the difference between restore and recovery mode on an iphone?
Just wondering I heard people talking about stuff and it sounds like there the same thing what's the difference?
Restore resets the phone to default settings like when you got it new. Recovery fixes a problem with the phone but keep all your current settings and information.
Restore brings your phone back to factory settings. Nothing will be there except what was initially loaded on the phone when it was new.
Where as recovery should fix problems with the software while allowing you to keep contacts, pictures and apps you have loaded on the phone.
- What's the difference between and Iphone 4 and a Iphone 3gs? Like I'm probably getting an iPhone 3gs, but I want to know, can you do everything you can do with an Iphone 4 on an Iphone 3gs?
- My iPhone is stuck in recovery mode & I don't want to restore! - 1 ITunes failed an update on my phone so it's in recovery mode. I have over 1000 pictures that I don't want to lose. I tried the redsn0w thing that's supposed to work but you have to put your phone in DFU mode which I can't do becouse MY HOME BUTTON DOESN'T WORK. What can I do?

- Iphone will not restore from recovery mode? I tried to restore my iphone via itunes but is now stuck in recovery mode. I press 'Restore' on itunes and it downloads the software (takes about half an hour!) and then nothing happens. There's no error message or anything. I've tried this several times now. I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and I've tried turning off my firewall. Nothing has worked so far and my phone is out of action. Any ideas?
