What to do about bad neighbors?

I moved into a new apartment complex about 3 weeks ago with my daughter and our dog and cat and it was fine at first, but now, the people that live above me have become quite the nuisances. They stomp whenever my dog barks, they stomp when I turn the TV up, and they stomp when my daughter plays music on her iPhone and has it turned up (She doesn't have a stereo).

I thought to myself "Okay, these people probably just like things to be quiet" but they throw parties nearly every weekend, they blast their music daily, they also have a grill and BBQ on their patio which is against the rules here, so it seems to me that they think they're allowed to do whatever they want, yet get mad when their neighbors do the same. Just yesterday, my daughter was in her bathroom putting on makeup and had music from her iPhone playing and she said that the people upstairs literally stood in the bathroom for about 20-30 minutes and just continuously stomped until she turned it off.

I'm planning on going to the front office tomorrow and complaining to management but I don't know if there's even much that they can do? I don't want them to retaliate either.

Gather everyone they do this to and have them attest the claims you make to the building manager.

You're right in wanting to complain to the front office, however the neighbors have the right to complain too. In the state where I live it used to be 3 problems complained about but now it's 2 (the law changed recently) and then the person gets evicted.
Usually if there are kids involved then you move into an apartment complex where there are lots of kids. Perhaps you and your daughter have different hours than your neighbors do, and perhaps the walls are thin (but the landlord already knows that), so it takes consideration between both neighbors and the answer is that if you don't get along then don't renew your lease. I'd be wondering how large your apartment is (2 bedrooms?) and if you paid a deposit for both your cat and dog and those kinds of things can get you evicted if you've ignored them.
Since you moved in just 3 weeks ago you might ask the landlord if you can move or move to another apartment in the complex. They "might" allow that, but the problems may be the same or worse. People with kids and animals don't realize how loud they can be, however if these folks party then it's a tit for tat and both sides should quiet down.

I Honestly Would Contact your Landlord and tell Him\Her the Pomblem. I sure your Landlord would Definitely take Care of it I'm sure other people hard them stomped to

Good hope it goes Well for you i know the Feeling i lived in this yellow Apartment and i had to move because the neighbors were doing drugs and acted Strange.

But anways I wish you alot of

It seems there's a major lack of maturity all around. Call the police on them on the weekends when they blast their noise and realize that they could be retaliating against you for your lease violations. You have no right to make any kind of noise. --- Only to the point of the four walls in which you rent. If your noise goes beyond that point and they choose to complain to the landlord, expect to be warned once and then evicted. If you complain about each other, the landlord will evict you both.

Has nothing to do with you… They rock and roll all night and part of every day… The other part you don't control your 3 pets… Dog cat and daughter

  • Why can I not connect to my neighbors Wi-Fi? Me and my neighbors are very close, we go to each other s houses and have the password to each other s Wi-Fi. However, when I got my iPhone 5s I was unable to connect to their Wi-Fi. I can connect to anyone else s including my own Wi-Fi. My brother and sister can connect to it easily, so it seems to be just my phone. I know they did not block it from me because they ve tried to connect me themselves. Any idea what's wrong or what I could do?
  • Using my neighbors internet? My sisters iPod is connecting to it, my laptop is connecting to it but my iPhone 5 just won't connect. I've restarted it multiple times, turned airplane mode on and off, and even tried to manually connect but it just says that it can't find the network. Help please? I really need it for my apps and such.
