What to do with my wet iphone?

So i got my iphone 4s wet in the pool and the sound does not work and the flash won't turn off (even if i turn off the phone). I've been putting it in rice for 4 hours and nothing has happened? What else should i do? Will apple give me a new phone?

Did you try hitting it with a brick?

This has happened to me before. Weird alerts pop up at random times. This Is going to sound weird but it works. Soak it in rice. Works every time. My phone Is now returned to normal. Hope I helped.

Most importantly do remove the battery and let it be dry itself

I don't think it will be fixed by putting in rice anymore. It only works if your phone is wet and you never turned it on. Now that you were able to turn it on, it probably short circuited the flash and your speakers. You should have waited a little longer before turning it on.

I highly doubt that Apple will give you a new phone. Warranty only covers factory defects, accidents are not covered, but give it a try. They might.

  • Rice not helping wet iPhone? I had my iPhone3GS connected to a car charger, and it fell into the cooler full of water without me noticing. It could have been in there for at least 5-15min. I got home and put the phone into a bowl of rice. It had been flickering with light, but now there's no light): it won't turn on and I don't think the rice is helping. I don't have a license so I can't go get alcohol to put it in): please give me other ideas): thank you)
