Try going to one of those verizon wireless independent stores, the authorized dealers. You might get a good deal. I got the iPhone 4S, a case and charger for $100.00 in perfect condition. A lot of times they have older good phones.
I see a few on ebay that aren't locked or screwed up by idiots for 300 on ebay right now. Gotta know how to search and refine the search.
