Where does an iPhone store its information?

I don't have too much general information about an iPhone and I really need this question answered for a project I'm doing so it'd be great if you could reply As soon as possible!

An iPhone stores its information on something called a Solid State Drive(SSD). As the name suggests, it is solid so it has no spinning parts unlike a hard drive. SSDs are much faster and smaller than hard drives, they are usually much more expensive.

In its SSD, much like how a computer would store its information on its HDD or SSD

HDD - hard disk drive
SSD - solid state drive

  • Will T-Mobile (store) transfer my information into an iPhone 4? I have a Galaxy Exhibit II and I want to buy a T-Mobile iPhone 4 from some one. If I buy it, will I be able to take it to T-Mobile and have them transfer contacts and make it my phone? Will they charge?
  • Why does the App Store want to know my billing information if the app is free? On my iPhone 4s, I try to download an app from the app store, first it'll ask for my password which is normal, and I put it all in correct but then it'll redirect me to my billing information/payment method and ask me to fill it out. I can't remember what my prepaid security number is because I haven't had it in so long so I can't do it. But the apps I try to download are completely free so I don't understand why this would happen. Is there anyway to fix this?
  • Why does the App Store on my iPhone 5 keep opening on its own? It seems it only happens when jm browsing through the fb app. Every time I open a link, after 10 seconds of being on this page through fb the App Store then opens and it's always the same app asking to be installed. Candy Crush Saga… Any ideas on why this is happening and how I can stop it?
