Which app of British English dictionary is more useful for no-native speaker?

Hi. I'm looking for good app which I can use daily. I'm non-native English speaker (I'm a Japanese) but using English on business. I prefer using British English. Because of I used to live in London when I was in postgraduate.

If someone could tell me any nice app for me, please let me know.

** I'm not asking a translation app at all. English-English dictionary's one I need on my iPhone.

Oxford.

There are many apps of English dictionary search-able in the web like thesaurus, oxford, WordWeb and etc. If you ask me what will i used? I prefer to use WordWeb because it has dictionary + thesaurus + word finder and also it is understandable and useful to the user, i have a WordWeb in my PC and it is very useful to me.

The Collins Cobuild Advanced Dictionary of English is very good (it's the one bundled with my phone).

It's UK English, and designed specially for advanced learners - plenty of usage notes.

  • Where can i go to learn how to make a dictionary like iphone app? I just want to make an app where one would enter a word and a phrase would pop out that was associated with that word. I guess i would need to build a database to store all of the info. I'm clearly new to this. I don't want to do this for a living i just want to make one app. It would be great if you could point me in the right direction or if you know yourself that would be great as well. Peace and blessings
  • Recommended Kanji Dictionary iPhone app? I'm looking for an iPhone app that is a Kanji dictionary where I can write an unknown kanji and it will give me the meaning. I would prefer it if it works even if the stroke order is wrong because I'm not always sure about how to write it. I just need it solely as a dictionary. Teaching/quizzing me isn't necessary Free is the preferred option but I will buy it if it's good.
  • Is there a dictionary app that lets you browse by letter? I would like to have a dictionary app that I can just go through letter by letter. Hoping to just start at the beginning and go all the way through without having to use search like most dictionary apps. Are there any dictionary apps for mac or iPhone that allow you to do this? If there are apps that will hold your place that's even better. Not just asking about free apps.
  • How to add a French-English dictionary to your Iphone dictionaries? In detail, when you press the 'define' button, you will be able to know the meaning of the word. However, now I'm trying to improve my french by reading le monde but I try to find a French-English translation by pressing 'define'. Only french definition is available. Is there a way to add the fr-eng dictionary?
