Who's right in this situation?

Okay, so I got a 32GB iPhone 4S and my previous iPhone 4S had 16GB. My old iPhone also broke (I can't get service or connect to Wi-Fi). Now, I want to transfer all the information from my old phone to my new phone. Okay, so my mom and I got into this argument, who do you think is right?

My mom's side: She told me not to transfer my stuff, that it would be stupid. She said I would be wasting all the memory on my new 32GB iPhone if I transferred about 13GB from my old 16GB iPhone. She finds it pointless to buy a new phone just to waste the memory again.

This is my side: Okay, I want to transfer my information from my old phone because first of all, that's what phones are for, for putting information on it. She's telling me she's going to spend close to $350 on an iPhone 4S with 32GB just to NOT use the space. It makes no sense. Also, I don't want to carry around two phones (one for all my data and one to make phone calls. That's ridiculous!)

So in your opinion, who's right in this situation?

You're right.

The iPhone can store up to roughly 28gB if unused, roughly you still have 16gB to waste. I mean she's the one spending her money to buy something for you. You should take into consideration on what she said. Besides does she even check your phone? If not go ahead and use the spaces.

I would recommend that you should delete some unwanted files, photos, apps, etc. Things that you don't ever use or rarely use to allow more space.

I'm a big saver on space, using roughly 4gB.

You are

Maybe she's worried that something on your old phone was the cause of why it became broken? That if you transfer the info, that it will happen again? That's the only thing that really makes sense.

You're both kind of right.

You are - but if it costs money, she might not be willing to pay if she just bought the phone. That'll be the only reason why. You could possibly pay?

You are!
