Why are people saying I have green eyes?

Well I have brown eyes and when I was at school I was just in the line and these girls said hey I like your eyes they look green and then about 10 minutes later another girl said i had green eyes and I was very confused… My mom has hazel eyes but my dad has brown and so I looked in the mirror and I saw my eyes were like this red/brownish color so than I turned my iphone light on too take a closer look and I saw that my eyes are like to iris the bottom on was green but the top one was brown and it looked like there was more brown than green but there was definitely some kind of green like a fading green so what color do you think my eyes are and also my mom said it looks like I have green eyes

Here's something that might help you understand it better: Everybody has blue eyes underneath. A pigment called melanin makes them look different. If a person's body produces a lot of melanin, the eyes will be a shade of brown. A little bit less and they will be hazel. After hazel, the eyes will be green because the blue is starting to show through. Your eyes are likely hazel with patches where there isn't as much melanin so these spots appear green. When light shines in your eyes they will appear more green because the light is shining through the pigment, sort of like a cloudy window. Melanin can reduce as you get older, so even if you had brown eyes when you were little you could have green eyes when you grow up. My dad was born with hazel eyes, but they're green as leaves now.
And don't worry, green eyes are attractive.

  • Why people like iPhones? I can't never get people who like iphones to give a good reason, why? Some say it easy, but a lot have no clue on how to use their own phones. Can someone explain something useful that great about iphone? Everything they think is special other phones have been doing for years.
  • Why is my iPhone 5 saying I either have 3G or LTE? I bought the iPhone 5(: I know it's a 4G phone, but why does it either say 3G or just LTE at the top? I don't get it? Occasionally it will have 4G LTE but not in the last few days…
  • Why do my eyes hurt more recently? I went to the doctor about 2 weeks ago and he said my eyes are fine, nothing is wrong. I've had headaches for a while but recently they've been dying down, but my eyes have hurt more now. Is it from too much TV and looking at a small iPhone screen? I'm seeing an optometrist later this week to see if I need glasses, because I went 3 weeks ago and the eye doctor said it would help a bit but I denied. Opinions?
  • Why are 20th century born people (1900-1999) saying the '90s is better than the 2010s? I was born in 2000, and people born before by most people were said to be born in the twentieth century but I proudly call it the 'ignorant century'. These dummies say the '90s is better than the 2010s, but when I google '90s culture and images I just laughed down in the floor laughing so hard! The only way the '90s could've been better is by having iPhones, Snapchat, instagram, and music having remixes!
