Why did I go over my data usage on my iPhone?
I can't go over 2GB. Last month I was at 1.260, I checked minutes before the reset/next month (12AM). It's been 2 days since reset and IIm at 0.383. I don't get how this all works but apparently I went over.
Because sometimes, some applications use bandwidth even if they are not used…
Make sure to close all your apps by double tapping the home button and sliding the apps either up or down to fully close them. (good practice as it frees up RAM as well which will make your device run faster)
Also go to settings - general - background app refresh and turn it off, having it on not only uses up data but it also drains the battery.
All smart phones today are set up to automatically use some data throughout everyday for preinstalled apps, system software updates, the daily weather, etc… These are all automomatic and require using your data.
Solution is to turn off cellular data when you're not using it, seeing as how yours is very limited. Its very easy. Just go into your phone settings and turn it on and off as needed. That is of course if you're not planning on increasing your data plan.
Make sure you use Wi-Fi whenever it's available. That does not take from your monthly data allowance.
- Why is the data usage on my iPhone so high? I can't figure out what I'm doing that is causing it to be so high. I've compared to family members who seem to use the same if not more than I do. I frequently make sure I have Wi-Fi on hoping this'll reduce it?
- Why is my iPhone copying the same video over and over? So I took a screen recording earlier today and when I went to send it, there were about 50 of the same video. I thought alright i'll just delete them. So I did. And they returned. I now have over 300 of the same video and it keeps copying itself.
- Why is my data usage so high after switching to At&T? When I had my iPhone 4 with Verizon, I used roughly 300MB of data per month. I recently upgraded to the iPhone 5 and switched to AT&T. Yesterday, at the end of the FIRST DAY of the billing cycle, I checked my data usage --- 500MB! I was barely on the phone at all yesterday. I probably checked Facebook 3-4 times and refreshed my twitter feed a couple times as well. I get about 50 e-mails per day. Can anyone tell me why this is happening?
- Why does Netflix keep pausing and playing over and over? I'm using it on my iphone 4. And I have checked my connections over and over I've uninstalled reinstalled, signed in signed back and everything else that the troubleshoot website has recommend. And it's gotten annoying. It didn't start doing this as much until I updated the app before the ios 7 release. I'm currently using the trial for netflix and my laptop doesn't work so I can get it on anything but my phone.
