Why didn't his faith save him like it was supposed to?

The bible said he couldn't get hurt if he believed, but he died. I don't understand.

Excuse me for stating the obvious. The bible teaches not to put God to the test. This kind of thing is very foolish.

The bible says to "not tempt the Lord they God." Satan tried that trick on Jesus, trying to convince Christ to jump off a building, for the "angels would save Him." Christ knew that doing so would go against scripture.

The pastor unfortunately did not know His full scripture, and was deceived.

The bible is a fairy tale book so believing everything in it is true will cause your nose to grow longer.

God never said to handle snakes… He said if we got bit by accident it wouldn't hurt us like Paul when a viper struck him by the campfire
Handling snakes is tempting God and very foolish; people are deceived

Why are people hobos when they're parents said they'd grow up and do good things?

Scripture warns never to test the Lord

Obviously he wasn't too faithful, or understanding of scripture if he was testing his faith and showing off doing so. You may have heard Jesus say "Thou shalt not test the Lord".

Faith doesn't save anyone. That is why "faith healer" parents end up with so many dead children.

The bible says a lot of things, doesn't mean they're true.

All the times it worked out, it was a miracle from Gawd and he was paid for it.
When it didn't work out, the Bible says not to tempt the same Gawd.

You guys are such hypocrites! ROFLMAO

Are you talking of Jesus?

He came to die for our sins. In the garden He began to take our sins on Himself and the stress was so great that He sweated great drops like blood. In Hebrews 5:7 it says "Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;". We know that Jesus died latter that day. This is talking about the Father keeping Jesus alive through the great weight of sin He felt until He finished every thing, by dying on the cross.

That pastor misunderstood the book of Revelations. The bible teaches that if a christian dringk poison they will not die, but God is not talking about a christian going out there and literally drinking poison, because they will die. This is spirtitual. Drinking poison mean a true christian hearing things that are not true to the word, God is teaching that they will not get sucked into that false gospel.
He will protect us. So that man obviously did not understand the bible. He literally thought by touching a poisonous snake he could live. That would be a miracle. The bible etaches that God does not do miracles anymore.

I DIDN'T READ IT PAST THE TITLE, LOL.

Apostle Paul, got bit by a snake/lizard/serpent of some sort and he was not affected by it. He lived without any side effects/illnesses. Apostle Paul was a man who struggled/battled with secularity and won. This guy obviously didn't. Just because the bible says that all you need is faith and you "think" you have faith doesn't mean that you actually have faith and therefore don't get the same results.

God doesn't "require" anyone to handle snakes (especially venomous snakes) as a standard operating procedure in order to prove your faith, or to attract people to God.

If it does happen that you should be confronted by snakes and even bit, God would still have the final approval if you should be affected or not. Isaiah says that you will go through water/fire etc… And not be harmed, but that doesn't mean that you should go out on your own to show off (even if you think you are doing it for God's sake).

Faith is not belief. Faith is trust. We're called to trust in God's will. Having discernment of God's will is a perquisite of faith.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego trusted in God even if God wouldn't save them from the fire. That's the mindset we must have. God's will trumps any other wish.

Clearly, he didn't believe hard enough.

It is written not to test your Lord o god. Ll
