Why does it matter if I have an iPhone?

It seems like people think you're a loser if you don't have an iPhone, and I don't see why it matters so much. I got a WIndows Nokia Lumia for Christmas, and it's a really nice phone, I like it a lot, but when I told my friends they were like "Why not an iPhone?" "It's not an iPhone" etc. I mean I doubt anyone my age pays for their own phone, so I feel grateful that I have such a nice phone I don't have to pay for at all. Why do they think they're superior to me or something because they have a certain type of phone?

Your "friends" are idiots. Ignore them.

I don't understand it either. It seems that some people feel insecure about what phone they have, so they put s**t on others that have a different phone. Don't worry about it, as long as you are happy with your phone, then nothing else matters.

I've used both the iPhone and the windows phone, and I think both are great phones. Even though I actually own an iPhone, I never tell people that they bought the wrong phone, because everyone has their own likes and opinions and I think that should be respected.

Basic herd mentality and the majority of the herd has an iPhone in their pockets. Few people have used multiple high end models from multiple brands so few people actually have an informed opinion… So the herd's opinion hold's sway.

It doesn't matter that you don't have an iPhone. People who put that much emphasis on material things are insecure and gullible. They allow corporations to brainwash them into believing that they are, to use your words, "a loser" if they don't buy expensive products that don't necessarily work any better than less expensive ones. And in some cases, the expensive things aren't even necessary.

I applaud you for not being materialistic.

"Friends" like that you can do without. Some people make practical use of their phones, in which case they buy the phones they like best. Other people have no clue about how to use a phone except for messages and phone calls, and wear their phones like jewelry, in which case they buy the most expensive phones they can afford, usually iPhones. The iPhone is a fine product, but in the final analysis you're the one who decides which phone you prefer.

Stop worrying about what other people think, and you'll be much happier in life.

The iPhone is the better phone… But you are right at the same time. It doesn't matter what phone you have. At the end of the day they are just that. Phones.

  • My iphone 5 doesn't have ANY service no matter where I go Today I was just downstairs in the living room then then I noticed that I had no service, I thought it was just a bad spot then moved to another room upstairs and it still wasn't working as well as my internet. Please help. It is not my service provider as my family members have the same provider and theirs is working fine. Things I have tried: Hard reset. Turning off and back on. turning the airplane mode on and off.
  • Iphone carriers, does it matter if its different? My brother gave me his old Iphone4. The carrier is AT&T I have sprint. Can I still change it over to my plane? I didn't think it matterd since people buy Iphones over the internet all the time. We already have 1 Iphone on our plan(my husbands)… So is there a difference?
  • If an iphone is unlocked, does it matter if it has a clean esn or not? I found an ad on craigslist for an unlocked iphone. It said nothing about it having a clean esn or not, but does it matter if its unlocked already? Oh and if i meet up with the person, how can i prove on the spot if its unlocked? I want to make sure they weren't lying.
  • I have a 60GB iPhone and it's constantly full. No matter what I delete, it just fils right back up. I don't get it It says that the app taking up the most room is my messages with just 3.3GB, and the second most is my photos with just 600MB. Nothing else is above 250MB and I don't even have many other apps installed at this point. Anyone know what could be taking up all the space somehow?
