Why does my computer make noise?

The following HP computer, which works flawlessly and fast, is only used for high school. This summer, I thought of upgrading it to Windows 10; I instantly regretted it. I missed Windows 7 and decided to revert back even though Windows 10 wasn't too bad. For some suspicious reason, the hard drive on my computer didn't recognize my operating system the next time I turned it on so I called HP since I still have warranty. They replaced my 1TB hard drive. Ever since that day, I can hear buzzing grinding noises that aren't too bad although irk me time to time. The noises aren't too bad, although I'm not used to them since my computer has never made these noises before. Before calling HP with this issue, I want to maybe fix it myself or finding out what the problem is. I'm not a computer geek or anything; just a teenage boy who uses a PC for educational purposes (except my well iPhone)

Can only guess, but if this started when you replaced the hard drive I'd try pulling it out and remounting it. There's a disc inside there that spins any time you access info on your PC. It could be it was just loose enough to vibrate and create that noise, when you reinstall, make sure to fully tighten the screws and that the HD is secure.

It could be the fan, they have a bad habit of making weird noses before failing. You can also run a diagnostic on the rest of the puter.
When you press the power button start tapping the ESC key puter and the BIOS menu will open. Select diagnostics and test everything for errors. If the hard drive fails or it says you do not have a hard drive, then you're going to have to get a new one and order the recovery DVD from HP.

If you want to reset it back to factory settings use the info below.

If your resetting a lappy, make sure you have the AC adapter plugged up. You do not want this process interrupted. This should take one or two hours. It is best to check on it to make sure everything is going fine.

If you can boot into Windows, click on start and then open your control panel. Then click Action Center click Restore your computer to an earlier date. Then click on Advance recovery and select return computer to factory conditions. Answer any question and the system should reboot. Answer a few more questions and then it should go on autopilot and reset your system back to factory conditions.

If you can't boot into Windows then try Advanced boot options. When you press the power button, start tapping the F8 key. You will see the advance boot menu. Select repair your computer. (This option is available only if the tools are installed on your computer's hard disk.) Select your language and then enter your user name and password. Then click on (brand name) factory Image Restore and next. Answer the question and it should start the recovery back to factory settings.

If you can't access the advance boot options then try recovery from the recovery partition.

When you press the power button start tapping the ESC key and the BIOS menu will open, select the recovery mode. This will reset your puter back to factory settings.

This is what a BIOS menu will looks like. Yours might be different, I'm posting this one to give you an idea of what to look for.

F1 = System Info

F2 = System Diagnostic

F9 = Boot Device options

F10 = BIOS Setup

F11 = System recovery
