Will Apple replace a jailbroken iPhone 5?
I'm looking to jailbreak my iPhone 5.
Since jail breaking iOS devices voids any warranty that is already on the phone, is it possible to return it back to factory settings to where they wouldn't be able to tell there was a jailbreak in the first place? Is there some way they can check if the device has ever been jailbroken?
What if it's a hardware problem (say the lock button stops working for example; I've already had to get a replacement for this problem on a previous phone) and has nothing to do with the software?
Will the 1 year warranty still be in place even though it's a problem with the hardware and not the software?
Nope, no matter how many times you restore'reset there are files the jB put on that can't be removed.
