2013 Nissan Pathfinder is acting crazy when I try to plug my iphone5c into the usb in the car?
The entire computerized dashboard goes berserk. It goes off and makes a big pop sound. I thought maybe I was using a cheap charger for my car. I decided to buy the usb charger from verizon wireless. That did not work neither. Do I need to plug that usb into a car charger then plug inti cigarette lighter charger in car? Or use the one in the glove compartment in between the seats? What do i need to do to listen to my music from my iphone without my dashboard just shutting down and that loud pop sound.
USB has 4 wires. Two power and two data.
Some USB cables have the data wires terminated. (Rumored to be 200 ohm resistor).
This is to tell the phone it's in a charger and can draw max current.
USB data cables are for transfer of data and the phone knows not to draw more than 1/2 amp.
It's an old rule that devices are not allowed to draw a lot of current from a USB data port.
Maybe the car "sees" the data wires shorted or with 200 ohms and freaks out.
Maybe the phone decides to draw 2 amps and the system shuts down to protect itself.
You need to use the correct USB cable (and port) for what you intend.

- Is there a car jack to plug into my iPhone to listen to music in the car? So I have been wanting to listen to music through my iPhone in the car for awhile now since burning CDs is not something I specialize in. Is there a car jack for this so that I can play music over the stereo system? I have a 2004 Volvo XC90 if it helps. -Thanks!

- Is it possible to plug my USB condenser mic into my iphone? Is there any type of conversion kit out there that would allow this. With my music I like to make recorded notes. The mic from my iPhone is alright, but i would like that condenser quality. The mic requires power from where it is plugged in (USB) so I don't know if it will work with the phone. By the way the mic is an audiotechnica AT2020 By the way the mic is an audiotechnica AT2020
