Airdrop won't work on my home Wi-Fi?
If I use anyones Wi-Fi the airdrop works but for some reason if I'm at home and I'm connected to my own network, airdrop doesn't work on any device, iPhone, mac. Yet my iPhone and someone's iPhone can see each other in airdrop on my network. Just not my mac to any iPhone or vice versa.
I tried resetting my router to original settings, cleared settings on my iPhone, made sure restrictions were off and firewall on the mac was off, both Wi-Fi and bluetooth is enabled and discovery is set to everyone.
I know I'm overlooking something but I can't figure it out
Air drop isn't as good as it is easy to use.
This is not the answer to your question but use superbeam, it creates a temporary page on your Wi-Fi and works every time, on everything.
you don't need to buy it, just use the url at the bottom when you open it on your PC/MAC
Can you confirm that the Mac and OS X are capable of using AirDrop…
- Why can't AirDrop on new iPhones work with AirDrop on new macs? IOS7 lets you AirDrop files between phones, and Mac OS 10.8 has had an AirDrop feature for the last year or so, but why can't I transfer a file from my phone to my laptop and vice versa easily?
- What if you didn't get Airdrop and Airplay with IOS 7? I have an iPhone (obviously), and I downloaded IOS 7. I have a iPhone 4s and in the control center there's no Airdrop and Airplay. Did something go wrong in the download?
- Using airdrop to share music? I have an iphone 5 and I was wondering hot or if you can use airdrop to share music files? I've tried googling it but I can't find anything
- Is it bad to leave AirDrop always on? I'm in the habit of not turning off AirDrop after I use it on my iPhone and was wondering if it affects my battery life at all?
