Amazon order still has not arrived and i've been charged. What should i do?

I ordered an iPhone from an amazon seller on the 19th of February. I paid £4.99 for delivery and the ETA was the 5th of March, although the package was not going abroad so I still thought that was a bit long but still waited. It is now the 15th of March and I still have not received anything despite being charged weeks ago. I contacted the seller and they said it had been lost in transit (they have the tracking number not me so I can't see the package status) they said they would send me another phone however its been a week since I last spoke to them and they are not replying to my messages anymore. What should i do? Thanks.

Call cancel and demand a refund

Don't worry - you are very well protected if the phone never arrives.

Contact Amazon's Customer Services and tell them what's going on.

By the way, the seller should be able to supply the tracking number to you so you can see where the item is (that's the idea!).

You appear to have followed the advice of Amazon by contacting the seller about the delivery of the first iPhone.

If the seller told you they would provide a replacement due to the first apparently being lost in transit, once they had sent that replacement they should have informed you of this and what the new estimated delivery date was.

As you have tried emailing them again but they appear to be ignoring you I would advise you to email them once more and give them an ultimatum that they must reply within 7 days or you will contacting Amazon and you will put in a claim to Amazon for a refund of both the iPhone and the delivery charges.

I had a similar problem with an Amazon seller and put in a claim and I was given the opportunity of either accepting an Amazon credit note or a refund. I accepted the credit note and it was given immediately. The amount of the credit note was used toward the next item I bought via Amazon.

Hopefully by telling the seller that you will contact Amazon if you do not get a reply from them within 7 days it will gee them up into sending you a new iPhone.

The onus is on the seller to ensure that you receive the item you purchased and it is their responsibility to claim from the company they used to send the item but they should send you a replacement immediately and not wait for a refund for the lost item.
