Buying new iphone in mid contract?
I got my iphone 4s from verizon in january of last year and it's been replaced once. My replaced one seems to freeze more and i'm just thinking about buying the iphone 5. How much will it cost to break that contract? Or are there any ways to avoid the fee?
Your early termination fee would most likely be around $300-350 dollars. You would also lose your phone number unless you port it to a different carrier in which case you would have worse service(Verizon has best coverage,) the early termination fee, a new activation fee for the new carrier and the price of the iPhone 5 which is 200. If you were looking to keep Verizon and keep your phone number I would just do one of two things. Option 1: add a new line and put the phone on your number. You'll see an activation fee of 40 dollars plus a monthly fee for the new line ranging from 10-40 dollars depending on your current plan. Or option 2 is to buy a new phone outright from Apple $650-750 and put the phone on your line. Any option will be costly. Next time get insurance, and get an android.iPhones tend to freeze more and have more issues (contrary to most beliefs). I recommend a Samsung device or htc. Motorola is very glitchy as well. My iphone 5 freezes and force closes a lot but I don't mind too much. The galaxy s3 is a nice phone too. I don't recommend buying any phones from an uncredible source because they could be stolen and therefore will never be able to be activated on a consumer account. Be careful.
I broke my contract and got an iPhone 5.It cost $300. But I sold my iPhone 4 for $250 so it wasn't that bad.
My boyfriend sold his 4S for $350 so he made a bit of money.
People will pay good money for an old iPhone because they are a quality product. An old android you might get $50 for.
- Will buying an iphone in contract and unlocking cause contract immediate fee? If i buy a iphone for example on att contract and unlock it, will att charge me what's left on the contract or will i just go by like nothing happened and free of contract? I haven't seen this but it makes quite a bit of sense for companies… Not sure if they do however.

- Switch to iPhone mid-contract? I currently have an LG Cosmos 2 from Verizon. I'm on a shared plan with my family, and I believe it is a 2-year contract that I've had for a year and 3 months (it was late August of '11). Can I switch to an iPhone before the contract is up? How much will it cost? I plan to get the free iPhone 4 so I don't care about the phone cost, just how much it costs to change before the contract is up.
- My Iphone four crashed mid update and now won't restart? I downloaded the latest update, and in the middle of it, my phone shuts off. Now, whenever I turn it on it just says plug into itunes, and I can't do anything else. It says I need to restore to original factory settings and lose all my data, which I Really don't want to do. Does anyone know if there's a way to solve this so I don't have to lose all my data? Yes I have apples site and they only have one thread about it for the recent crash and it is unanswered.
