Can a Iphone be tracked with out a sim card in it?
My friend found a iPhone and took the sim card and broke it in half. He is wondering if it can still be tracked by the police or owner! He is scared that they will track it and he'll get in deep trouble for stealing, but he didn't steal it he found it and I told he if they track u then say that you found it not stole it. So I'm wondering can a iPhone be tracked with a sim in it?
Oh yes it can. Even when it's turned off.
Yes it can still very much be tracked & as someone here has said before, finder's keepers is not law, so just cause you found it doesn't make you innocent particularly when you then went & broke the SIM, damaging property.
Even if it couldn't be tracked it would require the original owner's Apple ID password, so you can't do much with it anyway.
