Can I change my iPhone to be prepaid?

My dad and I ran up a Verizon bill and there's not way we could afford to pay it back. Can I just make my iPhone I have now prepaid through Verizon? Like unlimited everything for a month plan deal? (The plan doesn't necessarily have to be Verizon, lol.)

Sorry. You and Dad can't. Doesn't work that way. Technically you haven't finished paying for the phone so it really doesn't belong to you--yet. Verizon didn't sell you a phone, they sold your dad a contract that lasts 2 years. If that contract isn't met by 'paying to as agreed' or you pay an early termination fee that's easily the bill amount plus +$350 for the phone, then they will cut off service AND the phone's serial number will be blacklisted and locked from having service again in the US by any carrier--forever. And it will go on Dad's credit so getting a phone again will be much harder. Live and learn. I hate that for you. Find another way. That one doesn't work. Best luck.
