Can i cut my regular sim card down and use it in the iphone 4s?

I got an Iphone 4s the other day because i'm switching to a new plan in a month or two but i really want to use it now.
Right now i have a unlimited text and call plan but no data, i know you can turn off data and just use Wi-Fi.
My sister told me my plan might not even work on the iphone and i don't want to cut my sim if it won't work.
The iphone is at&t and so is my current phone so no worries there.

You can turn off data and just use Wi-Fi, sure. But you still have to pay for it.

All smartphones require data plans. Cheapest one is $15 a month.

So whether or not you use it, your bill will be $15 higher

You can cut down your SIM card to micro SIM. Since it's an ATT iPhone make sure you unlock it.

  • Will I be able to transfer my contract from a regular Sim card to a Micro Sim card? I want to buy an iPhone 4S on T-mobile, but my current T-mobile sim card is a regular one that would not fit in to the iPhone 4S. Would I be able to somehow move my contract on to the new Micro Sim?
  • Will a blackberry sim card work in an iPhone 4 if we cut the sim? My friend has a blackberry and wants to buy an iPhone 4 off someone he knows. I have a micro sim cutter that I used when I went from iPhone 3G to iPhone 4. If we cut down his sim it will fit in the iPhone, but will he still be able to use Internet and call people? Also, would his network provider be able to send him a new iPhone sim but with the same tariff? Cheers

My SIM card has been cut to fit on iPhone but I'm going to sell it next month to go back to regular T-Mobile phone. I still have the cutout piece from original T-Mobile SIM Card. Can I re-attach micro SIM to original T-Mobile card and use it on new T-Mobile phone, or would I have to buy the new SIM card and activate it again on pay-as-go-plan?

I've just cut my sim card into a micro sim, Placed it into my iPhone 4s and it states there no sim card in there, They phone was recently unlocked by Telstra and i know it's unlocked because i got a conformation message on iTunes. I would have thought i cut it too small though that same sim card works in my Samsung Galaxy s2 Perfectly? What's the problem and why isn't it working with my iPhone?
