Can I perform a scan for open ports on my home network with my iPhone?

It's very easy. You have to download an app called NetworkToolbox. You can then perform a port scan with the app. The scan will look for open ports left unintentionally open to the web.

In a browser go to

http://www.grc.com

and find their ShieldsUp test. Run the test - by default this will cover ports 0 to 1055, which covers the standard listening ports. You can also use the test to check out specific game ports.

The test will tell you which ports are not accessible, which are accesible but closed and which are accessible and open.

I have not specifically tried this on iOS, but it works well under Windows and Android. I can't see why iOS should be any different.
