Can i put a prepaid sim card in an iphone?

I was planning on buying a factory unlocked iPhone 4s from amazon and then buying a prepaid verizon sim card from walmart and putting it in the phone so i only have to pay monthly services and don't have to worry about a contract. Is it possible for me to do this?

Yes you can if it is unlocked

Yes just get the right sim card

Yes. If it wasn't unlocked, then it would be a no no.

If it is a micro sim it will work fine if not what you can do is cut off all the pieces of plastic that don't hae the gold plates on it, ( the gold plates are on the back). This has seemed to work with mine the only thing is i'm in Australia, I'm not sure if the sims ate the same.

I bought mine @ Apple Store, and they transferred everything on the new iPhone for me.

It's not possible to do it using a Verizon sim because Verizon has locks on their sims. But if you use Straight Talk or AT&T it will work.

Yes, Straight Talk SIM does exactly this and iPhone 4s are compatible.

That's a great idea and definitely possible. The only issue is that you can't do it with Verizon. I would try Straight Talk. Cult of Mac wrote an article relatively recently calling Straight Talk "the best prepaid carrier for your iPhone."

With Straight Talk you can get unlimited Talk, Text and Data for $45 a month. I've also included a few other tech reviews on people who have used Straight Talk with their iPhone. Hope this helps!
