Can I receive mms on iphone 4S without having mobile data on all the time?
On every other smartphone I have owned I can disable data, so as not to use it all the time. When receiving a picture message, the phone detects this and enables data only to download the picture.
Can I do this with an i-phone, too? I don't want mobile data on all the time because I have a low data allowance.
Depends on your carrier - they set that rule. It has nothing to do with the make or model of phone.
AT&T doesn't allow MMS over Wi-Fi, but some like Sprint and metroPCS do.
This is why it's smart to shop around. I specifically avoided AT&T because of this blatant rip-off policy.
