Can i sue for false accusations at work?

I was accused of stealing a phone at work. And well basically they have no proof i did it and therefore they fired me and paid me up front my check in cash. The downside is i trusted my manager and mentiond i had marijuana on me and i was acting nervous cause i was told cops were going to come and search. So that same day the phone was stolen i had weed in my pocket. I told my manager i was nervous cause of the marijuana not cause of the phone. I can careless because i didn't do it i have no reason to, the managers know i'm a hard working person i had 2 jobs now just one. Iv turnd in many iphones and wallets i don't know why they would accuse me of doing it if there was 2 of us bussing tables that night. Point is the only ones that could have taken the phone were me and my partner that night. They have no camras or witnesses and they chose to fire me and well they said "we will talk to the other busser tomarow and maybe fire him". Point is i want to know if i can sue them. I can careless about havein my job back i just don't want to mess up my reputation of being known for stealing when its not true.

What would you prefer, being accused of stealing a phone and paid and fired or waiting for the cops and arrested for bringing weed to work. They did you a favor man.

No lawyer is going to take that case on a contingency basis. That means you will need to hire a lawyer, pay them money up front to look at you proposed case and continue to pay them through a trial should it go that far.In the end should you win a monetary settlement then you will get paid. Will you win more than it costs to sue? That is the question you need to answer. And your going to need to pay a lawyer to tell you if you have a case r not. But here's the rub. You and I know you did steal that phone. And they may just lay in wait as you go fore word and learn that they do in fact have some proof. That's how I know you did it, because you base your argument on they have no proof. If you did not steal it you would have said so, and you didn't. A crook says things like they have no proof. An innocent man says I don't know why they think I did it but I don't steal. But all you are concerned with is if they gots the evidence and what can I gets out of this.

No. You can legally be fired for any reason or no reason at all. They don't need to be able to prove any of these accusations to legally fire you, and you don't get free money because they made the accusations.

No, they can fire you for any reason they like. If it wasn't for the accusation of theft, they would have fired you for bringing drugs to work. Your reputation with them is trashed either way. I would not list them on your resume when you seek a new job.

You have no case. They didn't need a reason to fire you. The fact you admittedly had illegal drugs on you is reason enough.

No you can't sue them. They have a right to fire you if they want.

  • Most online dating sites are a scam because they are usually run by fraudsters who work in call centres. True or false? Fraudsters who work in the call centres would use photographs of women to entice unsuspecting people and tell them what they want to hear, which is a money spinner. But people who are gullible enough to subscribe are usually disappointed because the fraudsters are usually men instead of women, but they have no romantic design whatsoever. These iPhone dating apps are mostly a scam, which is a complete waste of time and money. True or false?
  • How to get rid of false false entrys on my iPhone contact list? Many of my contacts on my iPhone are listed under F. This is because the second and fourth line entry is" false". I did not enter this. When I try to delete the second and fourth line to fix the problem, it switches back within minutes.
