Can I sync an IPhone to a computer with a different Apple account?
My friend wants to sync her phone to my library because I have a lot of music. Her IPhone is registered under a different Apple ID than mine though. Will she have to log in as me on the IPhone? Or can she just keep using her own account?
If she connects her iPhone with your iTunes, she can just keep her Apple ID, and your music will sync with her iPhone.
If you sync her iPhone to your computer, it will very likely erase whatever's on her phone when it puts your music there. This has been a basic feature of iPods and Apple gadgets for years - Apple sells both iPhones and the media that goes on them - and they'd make far less money on iTunes if people could easily do what you're trying to do.
There's an easy work around - just copy the song files to a CD or blank DVD, then give her that disc to copy from to her own computer to put on her own iTunes.
You should make a CD or DVD of your music anyway - that way you can copy it back to your computer if it's reformatted or has its HD replaced or you replace your computer; It's much harder to copy from an iPod.
Another possibility - she connects the iPhone to your iTunes in Manual Management mode - I use that and can connect the same iPod to separate computers at home and work, and nothing ever gets erased.
