Can I trust him? Is it a scam?
I lost my iphone 5 November of last year, I had to downgrade into my moms old iphone 4. I never got it back after leaving countless messages on my phone. Well recently I got a call from a guy saying that he bought an iphone 5, and it had my phone number on it so he called me. He said he was willing to return the phone because he didn't want to have a stolen iphone. He didn't ask for money, and he was really nice on the phone. He ended up texting me like an hour later asking for my Apple ID to unsync his SIM card he put in my old phone. My brother responded for me telling him we didn't know it, just to be on the safe side and not give our info. Because the guy lived close to us, we offered to drive to his place and get everything situated since my older brother is good with computers and iPhones, we told the guy that it would be my brother and I and my older sister, he said that he "didn't want to get jumped." But I reassured him it was for my safety, And he hasn't responded since. Is it a scam? He sent me photos of my phone, and read the message I sent on it so I know it's mine, plus he didn't ask for money. I'm not sure.
Meet him in a public place or tell him to leave it at the police department.
I actually don't bother returning phones any more because a good friend went through a lot of drama to return a girl's phone to her and in the end was harassed to return it, threatened with violence and having to deal with police, and was accused of stealing it to get reward money. Not to mention wasn't even thanked, ugh!
So show gratitude and encourage him to be a good samaritan, but do it on neutral territory.
I'm not sure either. Both of you are right - you don't want to get jumped and neither does he. Whatever you do don't go on your own. Maybe you could suggest meeting in public somewhere?
Ask him to meet you in a public place such as a coffee shop, if he's genuine, you can buy him a coffee or 3 for his trouble.
May be he is right. It is better to go & collect the phone.
Let him leave a parcel at the police station with the phone in it. You do not have to meet him. Send him a reward tell him to ick it up at the police station.Say thank you and move on.
- What website can I trust to unlock my iphone 4? Bought an iphone 4 off of ebay that was suppose to be unlocked and jail broken. It was jail broken but not unlocked. I think the seller updated the software which locked the phone back up. The seller offered to pay for me to get it unlocked. So are there any trustworthy sites that will unlock it. - Can i trust ebay when buying an iPhone? I heard craglists is not as reliable as ebay so i just want to make sure that is true. Or should I got for craigslist? The one on ebay is about 40 bucks more but that is because it was refurbished. I'm getting the 3gs if anyone was wondering. Also are refurbished products good? I want to make sure I do not waste my money. Also the person I would be buying from ebay has a top rated seller award with fast shipping etc. Can i trust it?
