Can I use a Sprint iPhone 4S with Virgin Mobile?

I bought an iPhone 4S with Sprint 6 months ago with a 2 year contract. I'm now realizing how big of a mistake that was and how awful Sprint really is. I would never ever go with spring even if they were the last phone company on the planet. I will never give them another cent of my money ever!

I'm thinking about switching to Virgin Mobile for $55 a month for unlimited everything. Can I just go into Best Buy and switch the sim cards out and go with Virgin Mobile instead? I tried to google the answer but I'm getting mixed results. I'm hearing you can and I'm hearing you can't.

No you need to buy a new phone for the full amount price.

The SIM card means nothing because Sprint and Virgin both use CDMA (the SIM is for use on GSM networks).

You would have to find someone that will flash your phone to Virgin.

Check craigslist.

There are several people that will do it for $65.00 where I live.

  • Does Virgin mobile use sprint towers? I'm playing on switching from AT&T to Virgin mobile as I was reading on the Internet about it I came across an article that stated that Virginia mobile uses sprint towers. Is this true? Because when I went to the virgin mobile coverage map it showed there was no 4G where I live though my uncle has 4G on his iPhone and he is with AT&T.
