Can I use iMessage on my iPod touch to text someone's iPhone?
So me and this girl like to text, but it's really raising my phone bill. I only really text her when I'm at home so I was wondering if I could use the message app on my iPod to text her iPhone. Will this work?
Yes, as long as your iPod touch has Wi-Fi, you should be able to text her.

If she has an iPhone then yes. If not, there are free texting apps such as Pinger that you get a phone number with. You can text for free but you have to pay for talking minutes (sometimes you can earn free ones, however). You must have Wi-Fi either way.

At random times, whenever I try to iMessage my friend who has just a iPod Touch, where you type in the message will say "Text Message" instead of "iMessage." is there a way to fix this so it will always send as a iMessage instead of Text?
