Can iPhone text messages show when the text was read?

Like R as in read to see if they read it. If you don't know, R Bombing is when someone reads it and ignores it and tries to say they didn't even open it yet. Can I phone text messages tell you if the other person read the message? I know you can if you both have iPhones but I mean what if it's an Android and they r bombed a message sent from an iPhone, can the iPhone user tell?

Currently, no. If you send a text message (green bubble) to another phone, no matter what type of phone it is, you won't have any idea if they read it or not.
imessage is the only way (so far) to tell, between other apple products (ipad, iphone, ipod touch, mac) if the other person read the message. It's a blue bubble and only if the person has their read receipts enabled will it do anything.
but apple's always trying to be the best… So one day it might be possible.
but for now, no.
Kik is a texting app a lot of people use-- an R will show up when the recipient read the message, there's no turning that feature on or off
but in reality-- the 'read' can't tell us if the person read it or not, the phone can't know that. It only tells us when they opened that message.
yeah, most people read their texts. But someone might open it and not even look at it. The phone still says it's read. Even if the recipient has no idea what you saidbecause they didn't do so much as glance at it.

Read receipt really just tells you when it was opened. No real way exists to tell you if they actually read it or not.

You can never fully tell if they have read it or not but your best bet would be to go to settings and change it to where you can see when it was opened. It also depends on if the receiver of the text has the same setting.

Hope this helped
