Can my laptop battery overheat an break from charging? Same about my iphone?

When I'm not using my iphone or laptop and I'm at home, I leave them charging. I never move my laptop, so I leave it charging for weeks. Is this doing any harm to their batteries?

Sometimes i leave my ipod charging on the wall charger while I'm sleeping but charging it for weeks isn't good for the batteries

It sure is! Batteries have this cycle that they have so when you charge a battery for too long or charge a battery that isn't fully drained or is still half full, the battery will eventually only last 1-2 hours, nothing much at all. Charging your IPhone and laptop for 2 weeks can cause a fire for sure and cause the equipment to overheat.

The charge time of a battery on a laptop varies depending on the system. The laptop battery is designed to stop using the charger when it reaches full charge.

Also, the battery on a laptop has built in controls which stop the charging process when the battery is full.

As for your Iphone I would recommend you to refer to the manufacturer's website for information on battery.

Hope this helps.
