Can steam affect the sound on my iPhone?

I take my phone into the bathroom when I have a shower and play music and I also sit it on the toilet seat when I'm in the bath and I touch it to replay songs or switch the song over. But recently when I try and record things on my phone the sound is very muffled? How did it happen? Why did it happen? Do I have to get it fixed or is there something I can do at home?

Well, I don't have an iPhone. But, one time I left my mp3 player in the bathroom while I was taking a shower, and later to discover that it no longer worked anymore. I think the steam in the bathroom, made the computer chips inside get wet or something! I don't know? The only advice I can give you is, don't put your iPhone in steamy bathrooms anymore. Electronics and the element of water do not go together well.

Leave the phone out of the bathroom when showering. The steam condense moisture on the phone because its cooler. Same way a mirror fogs up!

So are you one of those now being referred to as the walking dead just can't live without a mobile phone irradiating your brain every minute of every day.
so when we have a national disaster and it all gets switch off then what you need to go mad without it.
yes steam is destroying your phone bit by bit water does destroy the workings of this delicate device.
it needs to be kept dry and warm and recharged every night or it ceases to function.

Steam is water so yes it will damage water and for the room to be steamy there's a massive temperature differential so you will get condensation forming "inside" the phone causing damage.
