Can you downgrade 6.1.3 to 4.0.1?

I need to downgrade my iPhone 4 so I can jailbreak it. Is it possible? If so can you tell me how to do it?

It is possible you just need the right program to do it and i haven't downgrade an iphone so i do not know a trusty program.

If you have an iPhone 4, you can jailbreak it on 6.1.3… Http://www.evasionjailbreak.com/jailbreak-6.1.3-semi-untethered-ios-on-iphone-4-3gs-ipod-touch-4g/

The tethered boot is annoying but after you get all your tweaks installed and have your phone the way you like it, how often do you really reboot it? And with the semi-untethered tweak if you have to reboot when away from computer at least it can make phone calls…

I really want to say iOS 3.x was the last one to allow restore without SHSH blobs, so unless it was previously jailbroken you can't downgrade it…
In the extras-SHSH blobs menu of redsn0w, you can Query Cydia for blobs of an attached device. IF your phone had been jailbroken, by you or someone else in the past, you can use this to save you blobs locally and then use them to downgrade/restore.

You must have saved your SHSH blobs! But there's a way to jailbreak:

Did you save your SHSH blobs? If yes, there's a tutorial somewhere. Google it. If no, use Sn0wbreeze.

The jailbreak tool is called Sn0wbreeze. Here's a link below.

However, because it is iOS 6.1.3, there's one disadvantage.
This JB is ''tethered'', and that means that you have to plug in your iPod in the computer to reboot every time you reboot. For example, if you run out of battery, you have to plug your iPod in your computer, open Sn0wbreeze, and click ''boot tethered''.

So let's say you're in the car and you have no more battery, you have to have a computer to boot tethered. Also, if your screen freezes for some reason (which doesn't happen that often) and you reboot to fix the problem, it will just stay at the Apple logo.

It can be frustrating, do JB or wait for an untethered JB, which will probably be a month or two after iOS 7 comes out, probably in August.

Also if you want to you can jailbreak iOS 6.1.3 and if you don't like it, you can take away your jailbreak, and your iPod will be back to normal. Just plug in your iPod to your computer, open iTunes and click 'restore'. Then your iPod will be back to normal.

This is a little complicated but not that much and doing it semi tethered makes it a lot better. You also can wait until july to jailbreak too.
And if you try it and don't like it, it's totally reversible.

Staying on 6.1.2 was a better thing to do.
Check if a JB is available before upgrading next time.

You can wait until september for a untethered jailbreak.
iOS 7 will come out june 19 I think google it to know the exact date, and hackers will work on a JB and a jb will be released maybe a month or two after iOS 7.

I hope I didn't make it too complicated.

Note that jailbreaking is LEGAL, but pirating apps and using emulators is not. Because a guy said it wass illegal, it's legal in canada and USA, other places I don't know.

Also, things to do is:
1.Save your SHSH blobs.
2. Change your root password.
