Can you use an AT&T iPhone and switch to straight talk?

I already have an iPhone but it's from AT&T. Can I just get a SIM card from straight talk and use that or do I have to get a whole new phone?

You will need to unlock your AT&T iphone to use it with Straight Talk. Straight Talk allows AT&T phones to be used with Straight Talk. But Straight Talk is not selling sim cards that work with AT&T at this time.

If you can find a Straight Talk sim card that can be used for AT&T phones you will not need to unlock your phone to use a Straight Talk sim card.

Straight Talk used to be compatible with AT&T, but are not at this time. If you go to Straight Talk's SIM specific website and click "shop" you can find out the devices that jive with their service should you buy another device and want to go with Straight Talk.
