Can't set up 'hey siri'. But siri works holding the home button

IPhone SE, 2 months old.
Microphone is fine, everything else works, no case blockages. It does respond when I press and hold the home button, but not when I set up the 'hey siri'. I have no disruptive cases, I have restored and restarted my phone several times and have updated it.

Do you have external power / a charger connected?

If I remember correctly, "hey siri" only works while on external power, so its not triggered by random noises while the phone is being carried.

  • Is the iphone 5s' home button bigger than te iPhone 4S home button? Need As soon as possible me and my brother are getting into a fight about it cuz he said he's going to change the 4s home button to the 5s home button
  • Is tbere any major différence between thé iPhone 6 and the 6s? Whooppeee is Xmas again and my daughter wants new 2nd hand) iPhone… 2 years ago almost bought her 5 before i réaliséd that it was 5s she wanted ( cos thé 5 sucks?) And I don't want to screw up this year…
  • IPhone screen is black but Siri works? I was on the internet and my home button stopped working. I have the Assistive Touch button so I tried going to my home screen through that but it still didn't work. I used the Assistive Touch button to turn off my phone and now I can't turn my phone back on. Siri works if you hold the home button down. My off button hasn't worked in a half year.
  • IPhone 5s won't switch on, but when I can hear Siri speaking when I press the home button? My dad was on Facebook, and it wouldn't load. Like, just blue borders etc. So he closed all the apps & tried re-opening Facebook and it still wouldn't show anything except blue borders. So he restarted his phone and there were no visuals on the screen. But when he held the home button, we could hear Siri's voice. Any idea why this might be happening? Or suggestions on what he could do?
