Cheap IPhone without a data plan?
I have a phone and a plan right now with T-Mobile. I want an IPhone, but my parents won't let me get a data plan, which is kind of a problem since almost all phones now require a data plan, including the IPhone. Without a data plan, the IPhone can still get Wi-Fi and stuff, so I still want it. I know they have unlocked IPhones, but they are so expensive. I don't need the IPhone 5 or anything; an IPhone 4 and up is good.

You don't. Unless you don't have a carrier plan at all. And that case you right as well get an iPod touch.
Unfortunately, carriers will not allow you to have a smartphone without a data plan. You could purchase an older iphone and not attach it to your account. But in that case, it would probably be smarter to purchase a newer ipod instead.
Alternatively, some prepaid carriers do offer plans that are relatively cheap for the iphone. Virgin Mobile comes to mind. However, the upfront cost of the phone is full price, but the plan range from only $35-55 per month.
- What iPhone 5 plan will give me plenty of data cheap? I'm about to be in college so I don't have a lot of money. I have an iPhone 5s on my mom's plan, but I plan on getting my own and I need to know what plan to use that will give me plenty of data (3GB or more) but won't cost entirely too much.

I can either buy the phone for $250 and pay a monthly $80 plan with data for 2 years or purchase the unlocked phone $800 and pay $30 - $50 a month - I might not get data but it wouldn't be a big deal to me, I'm just trying to find a deal thats not ridiculously expensive cause I can't really afford too too much right now. My cousin told me that I can get a new sim card and tell them that i have a different phone that doesn't require a data plan, then cut up the sim card to fit my iPhone 4s. Would that work? If not, what will work?
