Customer won't pick up repaired iPhone?
IPhone was screen repair finished on June 2nd. Called customer to let know the repair was finished and could pick up her item and pay for the repair. Was told will be here the next day. Never came.
I called the next day and left voicemail.
Called the 5th and the customer answered phone and said will pickup by the 9th.
Called the 10th, no answer voicemail left.
Called 11th, answered but customer was confused and hung up.
Called the 11th again after a hour and customer said will call me back.
Called the 12th (today) and customer answered but hung up after I said who I'm.
I have also sent a few text messages with no reply.
What can I do? Call the police?
Added (1). I'm the owner of the business and the only worker.
Added (2). I have a contract signed by her, stating after 45 days the item is mine.
Hiya
Don't call the police just yet.
Could it be that she doesn't have the money to pay at the moment, so she's avoiding you?
I'm thinking, maybe you could write her a formal letter, giving her so many days in which to pay and if she doesn't you will have no option but to sell the phone on or something.
It is a bit strange her behaving that way though - especially if you say she seemed confused.
I would be thinking all sorts of mad things if i ran my own business and a customer acted like that!
So yes, it's hard to know what to do for certain. Okay, try the letter thing, I'm not sure what you're thinking, but in the meantime, if your instinct tells you to call the police, especially if you're concerned about her in some way, then yep, it'll probably be wise.
Hope this is of some use.
>jj.
Its tricky because essentially i'm assuimg the only thing governing the transaction is a verbal agreement between the two parties - i.e nothing in writing… The police can't help you in this matter. If you want it resolved legally it would most likley need to go to a small claims court, however, the cost of that is likley to out weigh the settlement…
Two suggestions.
* In Future you should reasonably insisit on payment upfront before you commit to the work.
* Claim the phone as default of the verbal agreement.
The phone is now yours
you got taken
not the first time and not the last
next time, require from a client,
50% of what you think the repair bill will be in cash
before you begin repairs
stop calling
I have several phones in my desk!
There's not much the police will do for you unless you think the phone is stolen. Next give up calling her. For whatever reason she will not talk to you. You need to send her a bill in the mail if you have her address. Send a copy of the contract she signed. Highlight where it says after 45 days the phone becomes yours. On the bill state the day the work on the phone was finished. Then state when the 46th day is from then. Then state how much she owes you. Keep a record of the bill for yourself. If need be send her a final bill a few days before. State on that bill it is her final bill before the 45th day. I suspect that either she found/stole the phone or she doesn't have the money to pay you.
Tell her for everyday she does not collect the phone she is costing you and your business time and money, for every day that passes she must pay an additional fee of let's say 5 euro/dollar (you decide the amount etc) when and if that amount of money increases to the price of the phone the phone is then yours to do as you please.
- Why won't my computer or itunes pick up my itouch? I've had this problem for a while. Before, my computer had no problem picking up my itouch or my iphone. Just today, after I got my computer back from sending it in, it finally picked up my phone. But for some reason, it still won't pick up my itouch. There's nothing wrong with my itouch cord but my computer and my iTunes won't pick up my Ituoch. It doesn't even charge it. What should I do?! I'm literally going crazy.
- What to do with found Iphone if the owner won't pick it up? I found a iphone at my cabin a few months ago, we plugged in in found and the owner. We messaged her on facebook, called her, texted her and did a lot to get it back to her. We finally got a hold of her through email. We have been waiting to hear back from her. I would go drop it off to her but she lives a hour and a half away. What do I do with the phone if she hasn't already came and gotten it? What do we do with it?
- Sony Vaio won't pick up Wi-Fi? My sony vaio laptop, which is less than 3 months old is not finding any Wi-Fi networks, but I have a hotspot from AT&T and my home router that my iphone picks up both. I can't get internet unless I turn on my phone hotspot and plug it in, so it acts like a hardware connection. The Wi-Fi is on on the laptop.
- PC Won't Pick Up USB Whenever I Try To Run It? My PC won't pick up my USB. The OS is W8.1 and it picks up everything else, such as my iphone, other USB, external HDD. It showed up under Disk Management and whenever I try to format it it says "This Drive is Write Protected."
