Difference between iMessage, Message and Text Message on iOS?
On my iPhone (5S) when I go to type a message to someone the bar where you type the message itself says "Message" (see down the bottom
On other iPhones, however, it says "Text Message" (
Is there a difference between them? If so can anyone tell me what it is?
IMessage you can freely send pictures, videos, and any other media to any Mac, iPod, iPad, or any other apple product for no charge. You can "iMessage" someone from an iPod with only an apple account, you don't need a phone number for it, just Wi-Fi. Text messages are just text messages
It only says 1 of 2.
Text Message or iMessage
Text Message, of course being SMS
iMessage, Apple's own I'm offer (requires internet)
