Difference Between IPOD and IPHONE?

Few questions… First like the question says, What is the difference between an IPod and an IPhone?
Another thing how are either innovative? I can see when the IPod first came out but it helped instead of carrying CDs, you can have it all in one stored device. GREAT! But how is this IPhone innovative? How does it improve someone's life?

Okay, the iPod is essentially a music player, about the size of a phone, that can access the internet and store pictures, apps, videos and of course, music. The only real major difference between the iPod and the iPhone is the phone section. An iPhone can do everything an iPod can, but can also text and make phone calls.

The thing that makes the iPhone innovative is that it is a phone, camera and iPod all in one. Which save a lot of pocket space.

In an iPod, you can't call anyone. However, it has most of the function an iphone can except for phone callings and messaging over telephone lines.
The iPhone is innovative because it is the first phone to ever use the concept of "touch-screen".

The iphones innovative because it was the first smart phone, the first device to open the doors to all these wonderful apps that help people in there day to day life, having a map on you 24/7, without even realising, being able to constantly access the internet etc.
