Do I need to unlock my AT&T iPhone 5 in order to use it with Tmobile?
I'm using iOS 7 on both my iPhone 4S and 5 and I want to unlock them from AT&T and sign up for Tmobile service. Does anyone know how to unlock them? I don't mind paying a few dollars to unlock them but there are so many people out there claiming to be able to unlock your phone, I don't know who to trust or how much it should cost. Do I even need tounlock my phone at all or can I just take a Tmobile sim and place it in my AT&T iPhone and it should work?
No you can't simply swap SIMs. Hence the lock & the reason to unlock in the 1st place.

If it is locked to AT&T, you can't use your T-Mobile sim in it until it is unlocked.
AT&T will unlock it, you simply contact them. It does not cost anything so long as the device has been paid for and the contract fulfilled. Third party unlocking services are now illegal, it voids any warranty on the phone and can cause problems when updating software.
Yeah you'll need to unlock it just visit all high Street stores that claim to do it ask if they dealt with a similar case before and if it was successful then find who is cheapest and with highest success rate. I don't think the success thing is with it as they all do the same it's all about who's cheaper or recommendations

My relative sent me an iphone from the US locked under tmobile and the contract was finished and paid already. All they gave me is an unlock code which i freakingly don't know how or where to put it. I tried to follow their instructions to "put the sim card… Etc.restart.etc.complete the set up process.etc." but there's no form or bar to put the code. T_T. Any one has an idea how to use the code?
