Define "decent." Whether it's decent or not really depends on you. If you're used to the quality of a real camera, then probably not. If you're only familiar with photos from smartphones, and only review the images on 4-6" LCD, then they'll likely be more than decent.

Option two is buying an add-on camera to which you attach your phone. This option uses a different (often better) sensor and lens that is in smartphones. The larger the sensor, the better the image quality. These add-on cameras don't have LCD screen. They use the phone to display and store the photos.
