Does erase all contents and settings on iphone?
Erase all the info off my iPhone? And make it brand new? Like out of the box
iPhone 5s
It will erase anything associated with apps, but not necessarily all your data and added apps. If you want brand new, do a factory reset. If you can't find that in the menus, switch it right off, then restart it holding down the volume+ button. That will eventually give you a system menu including factory reset. Go up and down the menu with the volume buttons and select with the power button.
Yes, that is the equivalent of restoring to factory settings
Yes
Settings > General > Reset > Erase al Contents and Settings
This option is the factory restore, it wipes the phone and allows you to start fresh as if you've just bought the phone and you'll setup the phone from scratch all the way from the Hello Screen.
The other option is Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This option allows you to reset all the settings from the phone will saving all of your data on the phone, its not a full restore it just resets any changes you made in the settings app.
The first option I provided is your best choice for starting fresh. I always do that every 6 months to keep my phoes refreshed, then go through settings and turn off things you don't need.

Well yea…
Yes.
- When you erase an iphone of all of its content & settings, does this mean EVERYTHING is wiped? I wiped my old iphone because i got the new 6s. So my icloud is in use on my current phone, but i wanted to know, that since i wiped out my old on. Does that mean it would be safe to give it to a family member or close friend to use? Without having my personal info. On it?
- What'll I loose when I erase all content and settings from my iPhone 4? Ok here's he deal I made a mistake texting this guy and our convo want disappear so I'm going to erase all content and settings and see if it'll disappear! What will I loose?!
- If I erase all settings + data on iPhone and set up as new iPhone? I recently sold my iPhone, before erasing all data and settings I was logged into my iCloud, when I setup the iPhone again I just put in any E-mail and password for iCloud, is they any possible way they will be able to access my iCloud if they were to log out of that account? Probably a stupid question but just want to be 100% sure.
- If I erase all my content and settings/data on my iPhone 4, will it erase my number too? I need to erase everything to make room for an update but for that I need 4.7 GB and I have 4.4 right now. I deleted and backed up everything I could but I for some reason can't delete my mail even if I sign out and I just can't lose my number
