Does imessage on iphone take up data?
I want to get iphone 5 and i want to add some of my friends with ipods on imessage. I know that you need internet for imessage to work so i was wondering if i use it on the data will it take up alot of data or a little?
Messaging takes up so little it wouldn't even matter unless you were attaching 2 meg images to every message. Imessage will also work via cell tower or Wi-Fi.

- I just got the iPhone 5s, Does iMessage use my data when I'm connected to Wi-Fi? I only have 5gb of data a month. Will iMessage use my data up when connected to Wi-Fi? also, when i leave the house and I'm no longer connected to Wi-Fi, will iMessage cost me? I don't want to go over my bill!
- How much data does iMessage use? I have 300MB of data per month. Inreally don't want to go over. I send between 3000-5000 texts a month, not all to people with iPhones. How many iMessage texts could I potentially send on my plan?
- Does it use your data when you iMessage or text someone? Is data used on your iPhone when you iMessage or text someone? I'm not really sure, so just asking.
- Does iMessage use up my data plan? So I got a new iPhone yesterday and I want to know if iMessage uses up my data plan when I send to other iPhones. I have unlimited text messaging but my data plan is a shared 6GB. Does iMessage use that data plan to send the messages or does it use the texting plan?
