Does it cost data on an iPhone to watch Netflix when connected to Wi-Fi?

I have an iPhone 4 and I was wondering if I turn it on airplane mode and then turn on Wi-Fi, if it will still cost me data to use Netflix. I would be connected to my home Wi-Fi (like for laptops and such). I have heard mixed results and I want a real answer. I want to be able to watch Netflix on my phone without going over my data plan, or my parents will kill me.

Ok so no need to turn on airplane mode. Just connect to Wi-Fi. It will not use your data, whether your watching netflix or surfing the web. Bottom line, no matter what kind of phone you have, when you are connected to Wi-Fi, data will NOT be used.

Simple answer.No.AT&T (or whoever you have) only charges data for 3g, not Wi-Fi. Anytime your connected to Wi-Fi you won't be charged, because you're not using data from they're network. When you pay for data on your phone, they charge you by how many GB (Gigabytes) you use, and when the person who owns the Wi-Fi network pays their bill, they pay for the bandwidth (speed) of the internet, rather then the amount of GB used. GB on Wi-Fi are mostly unlimited. To sum it up, you won't EVER be charged for using Wi-Fi on your iPhone, and if you do, complain IMMEDIATELY.
