Does it cost money to create an apple ID?
So yesterday I got an iPhone 4s I'm still tryna figure it out. I've been trying to download Facebook an put a ringtone on it an when I go to create the ID it asks for a credit card number, so I was just wondering if it costs money?

No. The reason it needs a credit card number / PayPal is because IF you purchase a song or something through the Apple store, it has to use your credit card / Paypal.
It doesn't cost anything to create it but if you want to download apps, music, ect. You have to pay for those. You said you want to download Facebook, the app for Facebook does not cost anything.
It does not cost money to register any Apple product, but, Apple does require you to enter your Credit Card information in case of any purchases. However, you can act circumvent and redeem a gift card to avoid entering your CC info if it's really bothering you.

No it does not cost money. They need the credit card information so if you buy something on iTunes it can charge it to your credit card. If you do not want it charged to a credit card then put a apple gift card on your account so that you just get deducted money from that card.
I created an Apple ID and it charged me 1.58 so I'm pretty annoyed because I haven't purchased anythkng
