Added (1). If I get the contract free iPhone from the apple store, which is categorized as a GSM t-mobile iPhone, will it come completely unlocked off the bat? Meaning can it work on any US carrier GSM and CDMA? Will it work internationally as well. Will have have to get any sort of code from t-mobile or is it a completely unlocked iPhone usable on any carrier right from the start?
You don't want a Tmobile anything. You go to the Applestore and ask for an unlocked version, period. Don't mention a carrier. That will screw things up. That unlocked device is dual band and can work virtually anywhere. Then take it to Tmobile for a sim and activation. Best luck.
