Does Verizon wireless charge for international imessaging on the iPhone?

I have the data turned off and am using the Wi-Fi so the messages go through as blue not green. Do I get charged for this?

No you don't get charged for imessages at all my friend they are absolutely free no matter where the recipient is in the world.

Yes they do. The only way to text for free internationally is to download a free app called TextPlus+ free. It lets you text any mobile number free of charge anywhere. But you have to get the numbers from your contacts and enter them manually into the "send to" bar.

If you are on Wi-Fi, imessage goes through the Wi-Fi for free (blue bubble, uses data connection only - not cell connection). Of course you can only text someone that is on an iphone/ipad. True cell texting only goes through a cell connection (green bubble, uses cell and not a data connection) - it would cost you international text rate.
