Added (1). I dropped my iPhone 6 and the screen cracked and it worked for a couple days but then the screen became unresponsive. I don't have insurance and I know its $109 to fix but I need to know if my screen is able to be fixed or if my phone needs replaced. I can see everything on the screen and sounds still work but when I touch my phone it doesn't respond to my finger.
My advise would bring it to an apple shop, if it is fixable chances are they will do it for free if you are on a contract.

Bringing it to the Apple store will be very expensive, but you will be getting OEM part/warranty
You can also buy a iPhone digitizer assembly on ebay for cheap and fix it yourself, but that might result in further damage/ voided warranty.
Another option is bringing the phone to a third party phone repair, the warranty will be voided but you can save some money compared to the Apple store.
