Help! Dropped my iPhone 5s in the toilet?
Added (1). the screen gives me new notifications but the screen is not responsive. Did I short circut my phone? I've had it in rice for about an hour but its still not working. I plugged my phone into the charger for a second to see if that would still work, which after doing research online I realized was a mistake. Help me figure out what's wrong with my phone please

Powering it was a mistake. It's done unfortunately. Rice won't help at this point, and if it was to help, one hour is not enough. Think DAYS. I've dropped a phone into a puddle outside (fell out of my pocket) but it was off. Into the rice it went for a week, and it powered up fine, no problems. Two reasons: I didn't try to turn it on or charge it, and I left it to dry for an extended period of time.
Rice is not some kind of miracle sponge - it 's actually a pretty lousy desiccant, but it's popular because it's cheap and most people have it handy.
Time for a new phone. There's nothing anyone can do. And next time, don't hold it over a toilet bowl for any reason.
